In this edition of the Chill Zone series, we sat down with Customer Account Specialist, Allison Ishee. Allison has been in her role at Thermo-Kool for five years, quoting and processing orders for our walk-in coolers and freezers. She works with multiple foodservice equipment dealers and rep groups on a daily basis, so those of you who know Allison via phone or email, please get to know her a little bit more in our Chill Zone.
Allison, if you could describe the environment at Thermo-Kool in one word, what would it be?
Family.
In your opinion, what's the best, obscure use for a blast chiller?
I find chilling coffee grounds interesting. I say this because I’ve sold several small reach-in units to the chain Bad Ass Coffee. It would be neat to see how that’s done and the outcome.
How did you land in the foodservice industry?
A friend introduced me to the job. I was given the opportunity, and the rest is history.
Where do you think the industry is headed?
I believe the industry will continue to thrive in the near future and begin to level out as best as it can with the current economy and disruptions we’ve been facing.
What’s your favorite food or beverage?
My favorite food is just about anything with shrimp, and my favorite drink is Mello Yello.
Do you have a favorite restaurant?
I do. I love to eat sushi and/or hibachi at Tokyo.
What's your go-to order?
The New Orleans Roll
What show are you binging right now?
Hoarders. Gives me motivation. 😊
What’s on your bucket list?
I have always wanted to go visit the Redwoods in northern California then continue north up the west coast to the border of Canada.
Do you cook at home? If so, what’s your favorite tool or appliance?
Nope. My husband is the cook of the family. He loves to use the stovetop when he creates his masterpieces in the kitchen.
Where's the coolest place on Earth you've ever been?
Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. I know, I’m a dork.
What’s your favorite cold weather sport?
I am a football fan, but I do enjoy watching ice skating on occasion! I don’t know how they do it without falling all the time. I look at ice and fall.
Anything else we should know about you? (kids, pets, favorite place to vacation and anything else you want people to know about you)
I celebrated being married for 11 years on December 17 to my incredible husband, Aaron. We have two beautiful children, Hanna Claire, who will be 10 in January, and Noah, who's 7. I am also a dog mom with five four-legged babies. I am a homebody, but I do love a good road trip. The next chance we get, we will see the Cowboys game in Arlington again.
My motto: When I’m passionate about something, I will do what I can to make it happen. If it doesn’t work out, it is what it is.
